Data systems

Several marine data systems are readily available online, but a general overview of this systems - and where to access them - is missing. One of the objectives within EuroMarine was to compile such a list to assess how well these different data systems are known and used.

An online questionnaire was set up in September 2011, to get an indication of which systems are known to the European researchers involved in the former NoE's and how intensively they use these online data systems.

The list of data systems below is the result of this questionnaire. For convienence, the identified data systems have been subdivided into four categories, with links to the online system:

  1. biological data systems
  2. genetic data systems
  3. geographical data systems
  4. physical/chemical/mixed data systems (containing either physical or chemical data or a combination of both)
Within each category, an alphabetic order was maintained.
