Belmont International Opportunity Fund

Dear Colleagues,

Further to our message dated 25 May, we would like to remind you
about the opportunity offered by the Belmont International Opportunity Fund, which was
announced at Planet under Pressure in London. The Belmont Forum is a high level
group of the world's major funders of global environmental change research,
which have gotten together to create an international fund to enable scientific
international collaborative research. The two themes selected for this first
call are: freshwater security and coastal vulnerability. The total amount of
this first call is about 18 Million Euros. Funded projects would be
"medium size", of a duration of 2 to 3 years, with a total of 1.2 to
1.8 Million per project for the entire project duration (that is, 400 to 600K
per year for 3 years).

Significant dates:

-Closing dates of pre-proposals: 20 July 2012

-Notification for submission of full proposals: 20 September 2012

-Closing date for submission of full proposals: 20 December 2012

You may find all relevant information here: http://belmontforum.org/io

Feel free to distribute this call within your networks.
We hope that the biodiversity community will answer this call in a major way.
Selected projects will contribute to the new Future Earth programme just launched in Rio.

Best wishes

Anne
